Ty Wood- Double Bass
On double bass providing the backbone of the trio is Ty Wood. From a very young age it was obvious that music was in Ty's blood. He started guitar lessons at 8 and by 13 had found his home on double and electric bass. Throughout school, Ty was part of some of the stand out groups (from the orchestra to the stage band and jazz septet) in the Performing Arts Unit, bringing together the best musicians from Sydney and the surrounding areas. He was privileged to play with some very talented players which pushed him to practice hard. Since then Ty has been a part of many different groups from jazz to hip hop to funk to metal, including Fuji Collective (Syd), Squid Squad (Melb) and Good Suns (Melb). This varied experience contributes to his unique style and approach to music. Ty's other passion is audio engineering and he runs Awkward Studios: a mobile recording studio also specialising in production and composition. (www.awkwardstudios.com)
